TomTom Unveils Nike+ SportWatch GPS at Comex 2012

TomTom and Nike unveiled the Nike+ SportWatch GPS at Comex 2012 today.

Designed for high performance with a clear UI, the Nike+ SportWatch GPS adds personalization and motivational features to the running experience, such as audible sounds, challenges, run reminders, just to name a few. Users can access Nikefuel (Nike's intelligent measure of athletic ability), which converts a runner's mileage into universal units that measures movements in a wide variety of different sports. This makes it possible for people to compare their performance against other athletes in other sports, as well as share their achievements with friends.

Dressed in colors to match Nike's apparel and shoe ranges, the Nike+ SportWatch GPS comes with only three buttons and a Tap Screen for navigation. While running, it captures location information while showing runners their time, distance, pace, and calories burned on an easy-to-read screen. Throughout the run, the GPS receiver works in tandem with the shoe-based Nike+ Sensor to deliver highly accurate pace and distance data.

When plugged into any USB port on a Mac or PC, Nike+ Connect interface is immediately launched, automatically transfer information to nikeplus.com. GPS mapping, total miles, pace, and elevation data of the most recent run will be displayed in a way similar to the Nike+ GPS iPhone app.

Each run will be graphically mapped with the help of TomTom technology, and include route notes, elevation and length. Runners will also be able to find the perfect route by searching the catalogue by location, length, difficulty, and even landmarks.
