Bose launches their smallest portable speaker yet – the SoundLink Micro Bluetooth

Tiny but mighty?

Micro speakers that are waterproof certainly aren’t new, but Bose’s latest micro speaker – the SoundLink Micro Bluetooth – has a new custom transducer, miniature dual-passive radiators and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery engineered together as a micro-system so you know that entire group will run optimally.

That’s why the Micro sounds louder than its size. It measures just 9.5cm wide, 3.8cm high, and 9.5cm deep and weighs only 290g. Bose says it is tested well beyond its IPX7 rating so it will survive soaks in soapy water, chlorinated water and salt water so you can drop it in a pool, sink or the ocean and the music won’t stop. The soft silicone exterior is supposed to protect from cracks, dents, falls, dust, dirt and sand too, so you can feel free to strap it to your bike and take it out for a ride.

Of course, the Micro has a quality microphone too. This allows you to not only take and make calls, but also access Virtual assistants like Siri and Google Assistant with just a touch on the speaker. For bigger sound, use the Bose Connect app to sync it with other SoundLink speakers for Stereo Mode (left-right channel) or Party mode (play the same track simultaneously).

The new SoundLink Micro comes in a choice of Black, Bright Orange, and Midnight Blue, and will be available from all authorized Bose dealers from 11th December for S$179.
