Thermaltake launches 3DMakers website with 3D-printable accessories for its PC cases
Thermaltake has just launched a new website that will feature printable 3D models of accessories for its cases, designed by both the company and modders in the community. Inspired by the ideas and spirit of the maker movement, all the 3D models are free for anyone to download and customize their own build.
The first set of available accessories have been designed for Thermaltake’s Core P5 chassis, comprising a range of fan brackets, optical drive bays of varying sizes, and LED strip holders. There are even laser engraving templates for you to engrave Thermaltake’s logo on the Core P5’s acrylic side panel and even a bracket that doubles as an AIO cooler and storage device mount.
The company said it planned to add more PC-related components to the website in the future, but did not reveal any specific timeframe. For now, users can submit their own designs to be hosted on 3DMakers. But it won’t be a free-for-all buffet, as Thermaltake will be vetting through the submissions and will only greenlight those that adhere to its four core values (“Excellent Quality, Unique Design, Diverse Combinations, and Boundless Creativity” to be exact).
Other than 3D models, 3DMakers will also be a platform for modders and DIY enthusiasts to get together and share images of their case mod projects.
You can head over to the 3DMakers website to check out the existing selection of 3D-printable models. There is even a small gallery of user-submitted case mod pictures already.
