There is a Windows 10-powered smartwatch, but it's not for everyone

This smartwatch does not run on Android Wear, Tizen OS or any other third-party platform; it runs on Windows 10!

Built by OEM TrekStor, the Windows 10 IoT Core based smartwatch is tailored for businesses and commercial uses. It is connected to the cloud and can run Universal Windows Applications. It is stated to replace a larger hand-held device in several business scenarios such as inventory management in retail, patient care in healthcare, and industrial automation in manufacturing.

A business-centric feature of the smartwatch is the ability to report various functions to the right place without any communicative detours, and messages are sent silently in real time or verbally via voice messages.

Some of the specs include a 1.54-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a soft casing, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, "plenty of storage space", and a powerful processor and capable battery to perform its business functions. More information on the smartwatch will be revealed in the next few months.

Given its focus on the enterprise sector, the world's first Windows 10-powered smartwatch is unlikely to be available for the mainstream consumers. However, we keep our fingers crossed on a consumer-grade counterpart.
