Tablet Race Heats Up with Impending Microsoft Contender

Tablet Race Heats Up with Impending Microsoft Contender

Apple's iPad has reigned supreme in the tablet space for a long time now. But it looks like very soon it will have added competition. Google is expected to release a Nexus tablet in the future. However, it looks like Microsoft will make its way into the ring first.

The tech giants are expected to make an announcement soon which is likely going to include details about a new tablet. Rumors are already circulating regarding the features that the new device will come equipped with. If the internet is to be trusted, Microsoft will be teaming up with Barnes & Noble along with the murmurs that the product will also have Xbox Live streaming capabilities. This points to an entertainment and e-reading centric tablet.

What the Barnes & Noble collaboration means for Nokia, a smartphone partner with Microsoft,  is unclear as of yet. Hopefully official word from Microsoft will help clarify how they plan on tackling the tablet market. One thing however is for sure, users will soon have more smart device options to choose from.
