The Straits Times releases iPad and iPhone apps today, which provides editorial content found in the daily ST print edition. The content in the apps include interactive access to ST's news coverage, news updates, commentaries and analyses as well as video content from ST Razor TV. Users can also access the 7-day archive of past editions of ST. A PDF version of ST will also be available on the iPad app.
The iPhone app isn't ST's first foray into the digital realm though; the iPhone app of The Straits Times was first launched in January 2009 comprising only its Breaking News service. The new app will now provide the content of the ST print edition.
The Straits Times app will be free for five weeks until Wednesday, 7 September, after which a new pricing package for the print and digital version of ST will take effect from 8 September.
