The Straits Times to Launch New Android Tablet App

The Straits Times will be launching its new Straits Times app for Android tablets on Google Play Store from tomorrow, 18 July. The new app will come with a 7-day archive and push notifications, with readers having access to full print content.

The ST iPad package will also be renamed as the ST Tablet package, with the new Android tablet app being part of the package. The stand-alone ST iPad package will be discontinued while current subscribers to the iPad package or the All-in-One package will automatically enjoy access to the new app on their Android tablets with immediate effect.

New subscribers or subscribers who currently pay through their news vendors can choose to receive either a Samsung GALAXY Tab3 (Wifi Version) or a Samsonite Optimum Spinner Trolley Bag when they sign up for a three-year plan.

A two-year plan signup entitles subscribers to either a Tom Tom GPS or a Nescafe Dolce Gusto Piccolo coffee maker. If your're thinking of signing up for a one-year plan, you can choose a Philips Steam & Go Handheld Garment Steamer or a Novita Aircare Air Sterilizer.

Mr Chua Wee Phong, Executive Vice-President, Circulation Division, said: “With the launch of the new ST Android tablet app, The Straits Times is now more readily accessible on all mobile devices through the various digital platforms. Readers can now keep abreast of the latest news regardless of where they are or what devices they use.”
