StarHub Offers Direct Carrier Billing Service for Google Play and Windows Phone Store

*Updated on April 24, 10AM: M1 informed HardwareZone that it will offer postpaid customers carrier billing for Google Play and Windows Phone app purchases in May.

Originally reported on April 23

StarHub is the second telco in Singapore to offer direct carrier billing service for Google Play and Windows Phone Store.

Post-paid customers can now charge their purchases (apps, in-app purchases, books and games) directly to their monthly bills. This eliminates the need for a credit card to purchase digital content.

SingTel is the first telco in South East Asia to offer carrier billing service for Google Play purchases last August. It was extended to Windows Phone Store on March 7 and Samsung Apps on April 11 this year. M1 has yet to offer this service, although it stated in March that Windows Phone Store carrier billing would be available in the coming weeks.

If you want to activate and use the respective telco's direct carrier billing service, do head over to SingTel and StarHub for more information.
