Spotify app lands on LG's WebOS-based smart TVs
If you listen to Spotify and have an LG smart TV, you’re in luck: both companies have worked together to launch a Spotify app on LG’s WebOS-based smart TVs (LG calls these TVs ‘Smart+ TVs’).
With this app, Spotify Premium users can now sync their playlists to the TV, giving them yet another device to enjoy their favorite tunes. For non-Premium users, you can also create an account through the app and enjoy up to 30 days trial of Spotify Premium. In addition to browsing playlists, the app also allows you to discover the latest releases from today’s hottest artists. For those unaware, the music streaming service boasts a catalogue of approximately 20 million songs.
Many of LG’s 2014 TVs are running WebOS, such as the 4K TVs in the UB980T, UB950T, and UB850T series and the EC930T curved 1080p OLED TV. Moving down the line, the LB750T, LB670T, LB650T, and LB631 series of full HD LED LCD TVs are also running WebOS.
