Specs of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 leaked, 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen expected

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 seen in this photo sports a 5.7-inch Full-HD Super AMOLED display.

With its official launch event less than a month away, specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 have begun to surface.

According to Chinese site CNMO, the fourth-generation Galaxy Note device will sport a smaller display instead of a bigger one. Samsung apparently has found the "sweet spot" for its Galaxy Note phablet and the display size is said to be 5.5-inches. Not surprisingly, Samsung will equip the Galaxy Note 4 with a Quad-HD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) Super AMOLED panel.

While previous Galaxy Note devices take their design cues from the Galaxy S flagship smartphones, CNMO claimed that Samsung will not adopt the dimpled rear material of the Galaxy S5 for the Galaxy Note 4. It remains unclear how Samsung will revamp the design of the Galaxy Note 4 considering that "new materials" would be used for the Galaxy Alpha smartphone

The Galaxy Note 4 is also speculated to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core 2.5GHz processor, 3GB RAM, 32/64GB internal storage space with microSD expansion up to 128GB, a 16-megapixel rear camera and USB 3.0. There are also rumors of a curved OLED variant and the use of an ultraviolet sensor for measuring UV radiation.

Samsung is putting its hopes on the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Alpha to reverse the company's falling sales as the Galaxy S5 failed to take off as expected. The months ahead will be stressful for Samsung as Apple is expected to unveil two bigger iPhone models in the same month.
