More information on Google's upcoming Nexus 6 smartphone has surfaced today thanks to benchmark statistics.
According to AnTuTu benchmark, the Nexus 6 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core 2.65GHz processor, 3GB RAM and Android L. The display size is listed at 5.2-inches with a whopping resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. This puts the Nexus 6 on-par with the LG G3, Oppo Find 7 and Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A. It is also stated to come with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.
While the benchmark did not state the actual name or manufacturer of the device, it is highly likely to be the Nexus 6 made by Motorola. Since Google is fond of using sea animals as code names for its Nexus devices, Shamu is likely to be the next Nexus phone. In case you don't know, Shamu is the name of a killer whale and the LG Nexus 5 has the code name, Hammerhead.
The Information reported in late July it had three different sources confirming that Motorola is indeed the manufacturer for the Nexus 6. Google Shamu is unlikely to be the next Nexus tablet as HTC is said to be building an 8.9-inch Nexus 9 with the code name Volantis. Both Nexus devices are expected to be unveiled in November.
