The same scandal that led to the arrest and indictment of Samsung Vice Chairman and heir Lee Jae-yong, has now resulted in impeached South Korean president Park Geun-Hye being officially removed from office.

South Korea's parliament impeached Park on 9th December over charges of corruption and accepting bribes from companies, including Samsung and LG, in return for favors, and today, South Korea's Constitutional Court formally voted to permanently remove Park from office, with an unanimous decision from eight judges. A new election to determine the next President of South Korea will take place within the next 60 days.

Meanwhile, Samsung Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, has denied all charges against him in connection with the corruption scandal, as court proceedings began yesterday.
