Sony's latest movies leaked following hack attack

Fury is Sony's latest blockbuster and is headlined by Brad Pitt.

Early last week, Sony Pictures was subjected to a massive hack that left its entire network compromised and its systems down. A week on, at least five new movies from Sony Pictures are now being shared online on file-sharing hubs. The movies being shared include Fury, Annie, Mr. Turner, Still Alice and To Write Love on Her Arms.

In response to this latest development, a Sony spokesperson said, "The theft of Sony Pictures Entertainment content is a criminal matter, and we are working closely with law enforcement to address it."

Fury, which is being headlined by Brad Pitt, has been the most downloaded title. According to piracy-tracking firm Excipio, Fury has been downloaded by over 1.2 million unique IP addresses since late last week. The second most popular was Annie, which has been downloaded by over 200,000 unique IP addresses.

A group called #GOP claimed responsibility for the hack, but it is still unclear who and what their true intentions are. In the mean time, Sony believes that the North Koreans could be behind the attack, in response to an upcoming movie called the The Interview, a comedy about an attempt to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
