Sony Wants to Log Your Life with Its SmartWear Products

Sony too is jumping into the wearable tech market, and first out of its SmartWear Experience vision (which consists of SmartWear products, Xperia smartphones, and a new Lifelog app) is the SmartBand with a Core sensor that can be removed and possibly be put into other wearable accessories.

The Sony SmartBand logs daily activities and representing them visually in Sony’s Lifelog app. In Sony’s own words, with it, users can ‘reminisce at the past, make the best of the present and plan for the future’. Besides being waterproof and a battery that lasts for 5 days, the SmartBand also vibrates when a call, message, or notification arrives. You can also play, pause, and skip tracks using the SmartBand.

In addition, Sony says that it’s forging new in-market partnerships, and more details will follow in the coming weeks.
