Sony Unveils the Vaio Tap 20 Tabletop PC
Besides introducing two Bravia TVs and the new MDR-1 headphones, Sony has also announced its Vaio Tap 20 tabletop PC and Vaio Duo 11 hybrid Ultrabook at IFA 2012.
Sony Vaio Tap 20
Combining the tablet and conventional desktop PC, the Vaio Tap 20 features an integrated battery, and a large, fully-adjustable 20-inch touchscreen (1,600 x 900-pixel resolution) to take advantage of the Windows 8 touch-optimized UI. Besides incorporating the Mobile Bravia Engine 2 and ClearAudio+ technology, it includes Sony's One-Touch function, utilizing NFC technology to allow users to seamlessly stream music to NFC-enabled devices. All you need to do is to touch the devices with each other to establish a connection. If you've the MDR-1RBT headphones or the SRS-BTV5 or SRS-BTM8 speakers, you can use them to continue from where you last stopped the music. Sony Xperia T, Xperia TX, and Xperia V smartphone users can also enjoy captured images and music stored on their mobile devices through the Vaio Tap 20 using this One-Touch function.
The Vaio Tap 20 also comes with two apps developed with the family in mind. They are Family Paint and Fingertapps Organizer. The former is a doodle app for two people, and the latter is family calendaring and messaging board app. There's also a Socialife app that individuals can use to manage their social networking services and news feeds.
