Sony’s new Sound Bars support multi-room listening and High Resolution Audio

Sony’s new home audio products extend the notion of multi-room streaming from standalone speakers to their new collection of sound bars thanks to the inclusion of dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) and compatibility with Sony’s SongPal app, which allows for set-up and control of your speakers via the drag and drop interface of the app.

Sony’s exclusive LDAC technology optimizes your wireless connection to provide uninterrupted audio. A definite boon when taking advantage of the offer Google Cast and Spotify Connect capabilities to “throw” music to the sound bars from apps on your smart device. Meanwhile, DSEE HX technology will help upscale audio from sources that are not in High-Res quality so you’ll get an excellent listening experience regardless.

HT-ST9

The HT-ST9 comes with a subwoofer for a full range of audio.

The HT-ST9 is a premium sound bar that incorporates seven mid-range speakers and three super tweeter units for incredible detail and clarity. The sound bar supports 4K content playback with HDCP 2.2, and will play High Resolution Audio so you get excellent sound whether you’re watching movies or listening to music. The system comes with a wireless subwoofer with dual 19cm woofer units for powerful, punchy bass that’s adjusted automatically by the Digital Signal Processing unit for an optimized listening experience.

HT-NT3

The HT-NT3 also comes with a wireless subwoofer.

Like the HT-ST9, the HT-NT3 also supports 4K content playback with HDCP 2.2.This is a 2.1 channel premium speaker that supports Google Cast and Spotify Connect streaming, and allows for Multi-room audio capability via the SongPal app. The HT-NT3 also comes with a separate wireless subwoofer for fuller low-end sound, and you can be sure to get the full cinematic experience thanks to the fact that it supports both the Dolby TrueHD and the DTS-HD codecs. At just 107.0 x 8.6 x 6.5 cm, this beautifully slim sound bar will fit perfectly in any living room.

HT-XT3

Great for home theatre set-ups, the HT-XT3 matches Sony’s new 65” Bravia TVs perfectly, and features dual 11cm subwoofer units for deep, punchy bass. Miracast support means you can play content on your smartphone with one touch on your sound bar, and you can again stream music from sources like Spotify and Pandora with DSEE HX upscaling support. All in a package that measures just 75 x 8.5 x 35.8 cm, and weighs just 10.5kg.

All three sound bars will be available in select Asia Pacific countries from June 2015 onwards, but pricing availability has yet to be announced.
