The Sony HT-ST3 is Supposedly the Slimmest Bluetooth Sound Bar You Can Get

At one corner of Sony's massive hall at IFA 2013, we chanced upon the Sony HT-ST3, which Sony says is the world's slimmest Bluetooth sound bar. At about 4cm tall, it's indeed one of the smallest sound bars we've come across yet. The 'Sense of Quartz' design combines smooth, cut-glass surfaces with aluminum, and conveys a very sophisticated look. And mind you, its small size doesn't mean it has a small sound. The HT-ST3 is capable of 4.1-channel of audio, aided by a compact dual layout twin-drive subwoofer with adjustable levels. It also supports NFC connectivity for one-touch listening, Bluetooth for wireless streaming, and has as many as three HDMI inputs.

If you need something more powerful, look for its bigger brother, the HT-ST7, a 7.1-channel sound bar with a wireless subwoofer. The 450W ST7 uses glass fiber cones and Sony's Magnetic Fluid speakers, and like the ST3, supports NFC and Bluetooth connectivity, has three HDMI inputs, and uses Sony's S-Master digital amplifier and S-Force Pro front surround.

The HT-ST3 and HT-ST7 are set to go on sale in the U.K. starting October, and are priced at £599 and £1,099 respectively.
