Somebody pointed a Nikon Coolpix P900 with 83x optical zoom at the moon (video)

Here's a video to lessen your Monday blues. YouTuber Naturbeobachtungen von Lothar Lenz (translated from the German as “Nature observation of Lothar Lenz”) pointed a Nikon Coolpix P900 with its 83x optical zoom at the moon on a clear day, and got this amazing video out of it. Just watch it for yourself.

The P900 lens’ focal length is the 35mm equivalent of 24-2,000mm - yes, that's 2,000mm. It also has a digital zoom feature that increases the zoom range to 4,000mm - that’s probably what you see in the video from the 30 second mark, when the moon is closer but the image looks more pixelated.

The longest DSLR lens Nikon has in its stable is the AF-S NIKKOR 800MM F/5.6E, which is 461mm long, weighs about 4590g and costs a cool S$$24,999. The Nikon Coolpix P900? It's 137.4mm thick, weighs 899g and sells at S$889. Granted, the P900 has a smaller sensor - but still. Moon.
