Singtel hops on the Sim-only postpaid bandwagon; focuses on data-only usage
If Singtel is your Telco of choice, M1's offering of SIM-only plans might have irked you a while back. That's all in the past now as Singtel has also come out with its very own SIM-only plan.
What's more, unlike any other service, Singtel has chosen to focus on data-centric usage needs for the modern consumer. With Netflix coming to Singapore next year, mobile consumers might want to consider revisiting their data plans (or at the very least, supplement them with even more data allowance).
Singtel's latest plan, which is a SIM-only data-centric scheme isn't bound by any contractual terms and is fully customizable with add-on options for traditional services like outgoing calls and SMS/MMS needs. The plan's perfect for those who spend lots of time communicating with others on WhatsApp, viewing Youtube, streaming music or playing multiplayer games while on the go. In essence, it's designed for those who've little need for traditional mobile phone services.
Singtel's calling their plan the Sim Only plan, with the Starter Pack priced at S$20. That gives you 5GB of data (3GB of local data and 2GB Singtel Premium Wi-Fi), with free incoming calls and SMS. If that's not enough and you want more out of the plan, you can easily add on extra options, like more data allowance, talktime and SMS. Singtel's SIM Only plan comes with a 1-month commitment, with customers being able to cancel anytime after their initial month is up.
For those interested, signing up is done by visiting any Singtel Shop or Singtel Exclusive Retailers. For more information, interested parties can visit Singtel's SIM Only plan website.
