Well, it took a while — about seven months or so — but it looks like Apple’s first store in Singapore will be opening on May 27, 2017, at 10 AM.

If you walk past the store’s location at Knightsbridge Mall at Orchard Road, you can now see the opening date posted on the white facade.

A quick check on events happening at Apple Stores worldwide also shows that local singer Sezairi will be performing on opening day at 5 PM. A list of other events like a photo walk with local photographer Aik Being Chia and talks on Apple products is also listed.

The rumors of Apple Orchard Road, the store’s official name, first broke when Pure Fitness sent out an email in October last year, revealing that it will be closing the branch at Knightsbridge “to make way for the opening of a new Apple store in late 2016.”

An early check on the construction site showed an expected date of completion on October 2016, but the store’s opening date kept being pushed further and further away.

When it finally opens, Apple Orchard Road will run on 100 percent clean energy using rooftop solar installations provided by Singapore-based provider Sunseap Group. The company is sourcing power from more than 800 rooftops across the country to run the Store, as well as its entire Singapore operations.
