At CES 2014, Sharp has unveiled its 2014 Aquos LED TVs. They fall into four series: the THX 4K-certified flagship Aquos 4K series; the Aquos Quattron (Q) and Q+ series, and the Aquos HD series. In total, there are 19 different LED TVs that are 60 inches and larger.

While there are 4K TVs in Sharp’s announcement, a fair amount of attention is given to the new Aquos Q+ full HD series. TVs in this series feature Sharp’s Quattron panel and Revelation technology, which divides each pixel, creating two pixels from one, to deliver 16 million subpixels. As such, Sharp says these are the only 1080p TVs that can play 4K content well. (Note: a regular 1080p TV has 6 million subpixels, while a 4K TV has 24 million.) And since they’re full HD TVs, they can be priced much cheaper than true 4K TVs. The Q+ series will be available in 60, 70, and 80 inches, and are further divided in two lines, UQ and SQ. The former has premium features such as AquoMotion 960, Super Bright, premium design, 3D with 2 pairs of glasses, powerful 35W audio, and Bluetooth.
