Facebook is set to launch a new phone and home screen launcher in less than 24 hours, but 9to5Google and @evleaks appeared to spoil the party by leaking screenshots of the interface and images of the device.

According to 9to5Google, Facebook Home adopts a minimal aesthetic with heavy focus on full-screen photography. Most menus are said to have shortcuts to the main Facebook functions, hence eliminating the hassle of navigating to the Facebook app or site. Based on the screenshots, the interface is well-designed and clean.

@evleaks obtained an alleged press image of the Facebook phone (also known as HTC First). They also learnt that the device will come in four colors: black, red, white and light blue. Apparently, the design of the HTC First is said to be a mash-up of the iPhone and HTC One.

A tear down of the Facebook Home application package file (APK) by Android Police reveals that the HTC First will come with a 4.3-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 4.5.
