In case you missed it, Samsung recently announced four sub-brands of ISOCELL at 2017 MWC Shanghai. Of the four sub-brands, the ISOCELL Dual is the most interesting as it could potentially be used in the upcoming Galaxy Note8.

Not much was revealed during the announcement, but a document prepared by Samsung for its investors and shareholders shed more light on the features of the ISOCELL Dual sensors. The ISOCELL Dual sensors are stated to have the features of zooming, depth sensing and low light shooting (LLS).

These features have been previously reported by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and SamMobile. Calling it "the most important upgrade" in the Galaxy Note8, Kuo believes the dual-camera module of the Galaxy Note8 offer 3X optical zoom. An insider revealed to SamMobile that the dual-camera module of the Galaxy Not8 is the best in its class as it can take superior image quality (better colors, sharpness and reduced noise) and better bokeh effects (also known as background defocus) than existing dual-camera solutions.
