Samsung Working on Knox v2.0 for Mobile Devices

Now that Samsung's Knox security software has been finally released, the South Korean tech giant is working on developing version 2.0.

Although Jae Shin, VP of the Knox Business Group in Samsung's mobile communications division, did not reveal the new features in Knox 2.0, he did mention that the improved version will include more security features and offer compatibility across more devices. Presently, the Galaxy Note 3 and the more recent Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet comes with the security software. Certain Galaxy S4 smartphones are also geared with Knox.

Knox currently works with the Qualcomm chipset, with support for more chipsets (including Samsung's) being built in. Shin couldn't confirm if the security solution would be available on the Windows Phone OS, which is also used by Samsung in some mobile devices. Earlier this month, LG announced its Gate security technology to rival Samsung's efforts in attracting enterprise adoption.
