The drives measure 50.95- x 30- x 3.8mm, with a weight of only eight grams. These drives are the latest addition to Samsung's PM830 series that was launched earlier this year. As an added security feature, the Samsung mSATA SSDs "feature an advanced hardware-based security solution including 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) protection, which will prevent unauthorized access to data on a lost or stolen notebook PC."

Samsung aims to be a reliable supplier for these drives. The company also wants to establish itself as an industry leader in developing flash-based storage solutions for such portable computing devices. Please click here for the official press release from Samsung.
