Samsung Unveils 31.5-inch 4K UHD PC Monitor at IFA 2013

In addition to all the 4K UHD TV sets that Samsung is bringing to IFA 2013, the company has also unveiled a 31.5-inch 4K UHD PC monitor meant to sit on your desktop rather than your TV console.

Other than its insane 3,840 x 2,160-pixel resolution, this 4K monitor sports a color spectrum of 1.07 billion, and covers 99% of the Adobe RGB color space, both of which are great news to its targeted users of graphics and video professionals. Like many pro-level PC monitor, it also has a built-in calibration engine. Connectivity-wise, you get two DisplayPorts, and one each for DVI-DL and HDMI. There are also four USB ports.

No other details have been released so far, so for the moment, you can only admire its glorious looks from our images.

The video ports reside behind a panel at the back. Notice the brushed metal back too. The chrome stand is equally simple but elegant. And don't worry, this monitor tilts and pivots.

For easy accessibility, the USB ports aren't hidden behind the panel.

Controls run along the bottom of the frame.

For on-screen color consistency, there's a monitor hood that helps to reduce light reflection.
