Samsung Replaces Head of Mobile Design, Poor Response of Galaxy S5 to Be Blamed?

Samsung may be getting serious about improving the design and build quality of its Galaxy devices in order to maintain its lead in the smartphone market.

According to Reuters, a Samsung spokeswoman confirmed that Chang Dong-hoon offered to resign a week ago. He will be replaced by Lee Min-hyouk, who is the Vice President for mobile design.

Although Samsung has declined to comment on the reshuffling, it is believed that the poor response to the Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone led to Chang's resignation. Many consumers had expected Samsung to give the Galaxy S5 a major design rehaul, but were disappointed by the same old plastic design.

Lee is well-known for his role in designing the Galaxy Series back in 2010, which led to the success of the brand today. With him taking charge of the mobile design team, we hope that Samsung can finally deliver products with great design and hardware.
