Samsung to offer an unconditional refund option for Galaxy S8 users?

As Samsung gears up for the launch of the Galaxy S8 next week, Korean media outlet Chosun Biz claims that major marketing campaigns are being planned and one initiative is said to be a refund option for the handset.

The unconditional refund option reportedly allows consumers to buy the Galaxy S8, use it for up to three months and get their money back if they feel that the phone does not meet their needs.

This aggressive marketing strategy is spurred by the need to show its confidence in product quality after the Galaxy Note7 crisis, and the limited functionality of its AI voice assistant, Bixby. At launch, Bixby may only work with 10 of Samsung's preloaded apps such as the photo gallery, contacts and messaging. There is a software upgrade for Bixby scheduled within the first half of the year to bring more functionality.

It is not known at the moment how Samsung is going to handle the refund program and whether it will be rolled out in Korea only or globally.
