Samsung may sell refurbished Note7 units in emerging markets

Update, February 24: According to a statement sent to Gadgets 360, Samsung says "the report on Samsung planning to sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphone[s] in India is incorrect." As this statement came from Samsung India only, it makes people wonder if that means the Korean company isn't denying that it's going to sell refurbished Note 7 units in other countries.

Or maybe we're just over-thinking it.

Although Samsung has ceased production of the Galaxy Note7 in October 2016, a new report claims that the South Korean company is looking to resume sales of the devices in some markets.

Korean publication Hankyung claims that Samsung may start selling refurbished Note7 units in emerging markets such as India and Vietnam starting June. The refurbished Note7 is reportedly fitted with a new case and a smaller 3,200mAh battery.

It is also speculated that sales of refurbished Note7 units will help Samsung recover some losses and minimize environmental damage from the disposal of the recalled devices.

We feel that it is a bit far fetched that Samsung will sell refurbished Note7 devices to consumers after all that had happened last year.  We would prefer Samsung to move on and focus its efforts on gaining back consumers' trust with the Galaxy S8.
