Samsung Launches Wi-Fi-enabled Smart Camera EX2F (Update)

**Update: The EX2F will be available in black from Aug 2012 at S$699, with a current promotion until 16th Sep which includes a free 25L dry box and power bank charger worth S$238 and SD card, camera case and an extra battery worth S$115.

Samsung has officially announced the EX2F, a new compact camera that will succeed the EX1 model. Like its predecessor, the EX2F will be ideal for DSLR owners looking for a portable second camera and enthusiast photographers looking to step up from their usual point-and-shoot setup.

The EX2F comes with a F1.4 24mm lens, 1/1.7-inch 12.4-megapixel CMOS sensor; other noteworthy features include a 3-inch swivel AMOLED display and a lightweight, durable magnesium body. The Smart Camera functions can be easily accessed via a Smart Link button, allowing users to easily access the Wi-Fi sharing capabilities such as cloud backup and image sharing on social networking websites.

There's no official word on its price for the EX2F yet, but The Verge reports that it will be selling for US$549.99 (about S$700). We expect it to sell locally at about the same $700-750 price range.
