Samsung has launched the NaviBot-S in Singapore.
A visionary robotic cleaning device providing hands-free automated floor cleaning, the new NaviBot-S comes with a daily schedule function which allows users to time cleaning according to a pre-set schedule. Also, the SR8980 includes an Auto Dust Emptying function.
Only 8cm in height, it incorporates the upgraded VIsionary Mapping Plus System that lets the device plot its optimum cleaning path and its suite of advanced sensors such as infrared detection to avoid obstacles along the way. Utilizing two CPU control chips, the system captures images at 15fps with the onboard camera and creates a virtual map of the house, then planning the best route and achieving complete coverage at a cleaning speed of 320mm/sec. This cognitive mapping technology enables the Navibot-S to cover 90% of the living space compared to the older random path technology which covers 67% within the same time frame.
With brushes at either side of the device as well as a Sweeping Blade and Power Brush, the cleaning robot provides speedier and better cleaning performance over a wider cleaning width. It also minimizes the diameter of the actual robot to allow optimum access to tight spots such as between chair legs.
The SR8980 and SR8950 will be available in Singapore from end of August 2012 at S$1199 and S$999 respectively.
