The rumor is right - Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A8 in China with the product being listed on the Chinese website.

It is rather impressive that Samsung managed to pack really great features in its slimmest smartphone to date. At 5.9mm thin, the Galaxy A8 packs a large 3,050mAh non-removable battery, a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, optical image stabilization and a pixel size of 1.0 µm.

Powering the Galaxy A8 are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with 2GB RAM. It also has a 5.7-inch Full-HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) Super AMOLED display, a microSD memory card slot (supports cards of up to 128GB), Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and a fingerprint sensor.

Samsung states that the Galaxy A8 is available in three color options (white, black and gold) and two storage options (16 and 32GB). It is not known at the moment if the company has plans to bring the Galaxy A8 beyond the Chinese market.
