Samsung to Launch Metallic Galaxy F Smartphone Along with Galaxy S5?

One of the most common criticisms about Samsung's mobile devices is their plastic build, which feels cheap and does not justify the expensive price tags they command. However, this is going to change as Samsung is reportedly building a new smartphone with a metal chassis.

According to Korean publication ETNews, Samsung is planning to launch the metallic smartphone, the Galaxy F alongside the Galaxy S5 later this year. The report states that Samsung developed the metallic prototype in Europe and production is slated to start at a plant in Vietnam.

It is unclear whether the Galaxy F will sport premium specs like the Galaxy S5. The AnTuTu team recently discovered a Samsung model, SM-G900F in its database which has a Full-HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor (MSM8974AC) quad-core 2.5GHz processor, 3GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat. The team claims that they are “almost sure” this is the international variant of the alleged Galaxy S5.

The first quarter of 2014 is going to be a busy period for Samsung as numerous reports claim that the South Korean company is planning to launch several new products such as the Galaxy Gear 2, Galaxy Band, a smartphone running on Tizen OS, a smartphone with 2K display, the Galaxy Note 3 Lite and a 10.5-inch AMOLED tablet.
