The partnership between Samsung and Swiss luxury jeweler de Grisogono is still growing strong as both companies are working on a successor to the Gear S2 by de Grisogono smartwatch.

According to The Korea Herald, a de Grisogono official told the publication that the company is working with Samsung to develop its next generation smartwatch. Apparently, Samsung approached de Grisogono for the second time to work on "super-luxury" limited edition of the Gear S3 which is expected to be unveiled in September at IFA 2016. The Gear S3 by de Grisogono smartwatch is likely to debut in March 2017.

The official also said that the limited edition Gear S2 by de Grisogono smartwatch has been selling out internationally. Priced at US$15,000, only about 100 units are handcrafted and built every month. Tech firms are partnering with prestigious brands to make their smartwatches more appealing to the high-end market segment.

Huawei gave limited edition smartwatches designed by Fornasetti to Vogue China’s party guests at Milan Fashion Week 2015. LG also worked with the U.S. retail jewelry company REEDS Jewelers on the LG Watch Urbane Luxe. Apple teamed up with Hermès for an Apple Watch Hermès edition, with leather straps handmade by Hermès artisans in France and a unique Hermès watch face designed by Apple.
