Samsung Galaxy S9 to be announced next month

Samsung has officially confirmed that it would be unveiling the Galaxy S9 flagship smartphone at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The news was confirmed by DJ Koh, the president of Samsung’s mobile business, during a press conference in Las Vegas. Koh also said that the release date would be revealed during the launch event.

Bloomberg previously reported a similar time frame for the launch of the Galaxy S9, but added that the phone would be available in stores from March.

The Galaxy S9 is rumoured to sport the same display size as the Galaxy S8, but will come with upgraded camera which could include a 1,000 fps camera module. It is likely to have a faster iris scanner and facial recognition, and come with a 512GB storage option
