Samsung Galaxy S7 edge to have a display that curves on the top and bottom?

The display of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge curves at both sides.

Samsung is said to be pushing the envelope in curved displays for the Galaxy S7.

According to HDBlog.it, Samsung will be releasing two models of the Galaxy S7 - the standard model and the curved variant - early next year. The curved variant, referred as the Galaxy S7 edge, is alleged to sport a 5.7-inch display which curves at the top and bottom! In addition, Samsung is considering to bring back the microSD memory card slot to the Galaxy S series next year.

As noted in our review of the Galaxy S6 edge, the curved edges on both sides offer little functionality in exchange for aesthetics and the cool factor. We wonder if having a display curved at the top and bottom is any more practical. One thing for sure - we certainly want the microSD memory card to be included in the next flagship smartphone from Samsung!

The Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event is rumored to take place on 21st February where Samsung will announce the Galaxy S7 models. Rumors suggest that the Galaxy S7 could sport the same image sensor as the Sony Xperia Z5 and have a pressure-sensitive display like the Apple iPhone 6s/6s Plus.
