The Samsung Galaxy S5 May Be Getting a UI Facelift

Custom interfaces (or ‘skins’, to put it plainly) are one major way Android device makers differentiate their products from the competition. And our favorite leaker @evleaks has just posted a few images of what might be the new TouchWiz interface, and it looks like a big UI and UX departure from the existing TouchWiz Nature, which debuted two years ago.

Besides lightweight system fonts, new icons, and a generally more vibrant color scheme, we also see a card-based, image-heavy notification home screen and lock screen widget, which shows info from a multitude of apps and services, from calendar appointments and flight details, to fitness stats and shopping receipts. It's impossible to tell from these images whether Samsung is drawing data from Google Now, or building new services to do that.

The next question of course will be whether this new interface would make it onto the Galaxy S5, which is inching ever closer towards an official unveiling as we speak.
