Samsung Galaxy S IV Rumored to Launch in April 2013
A fresh round of rumors surfaced recently not on one, but three upcoming Samsung mobile devices - the Galaxy S IV, an entry-level Galaxy Note II and a 13.3-inch tablet with a keyboard dock.
According to an insider of SamMobile, Samsung has a new device in the works under a project name known internally as "Project J". The device is said to be announced in April 2013, which raises the possibility that the new device is indeed the Galaxy S IV. Although the specs of the device are not confirmed at the moment, the Galaxy S IV is rumored to come with a 5.0-inch 1080p display, a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and a 13-megapixel camera.
Riding on the momentum of the Galaxy Note II, the insider also claimed that Samsung is planning to introduce an entry-level Galaxy Note II variant. Targeted at the European market, the Galaxy Note II variant will be equipped with less powerful specs such as a non-Super AMOLED display and will not incorporate the S Pen.
Last but not least, the Korean company is said to be bringing a 13.3-inch tablet with a keyboard dock as an option to the market to compete with ASUS. The Taiwanese company has been a pioneer in this field as it introduced the Eee Pad Transformer in 2011, and followed up with several innovative products such as the Eee Pad Slider, Transformer Pad Prime, Transformer Pad TF300 and the VivoTab RT. It is unknown at this point in time what operating system will Samsung use on the tablet.
Samsung is widely speculated to showcase a 4.99-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display at CES 2013. Hopefully, we will learn more about the company's upcoming product line up then.
