Samsung Galaxy S III to be Official Device for 2012 Olympics
We first reported on the rumor that the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy S III will make an official entrance in London on the 22nd of May; that's not true - the handset is said to make an official unveiling even earlier in London on the 3rd of May. More news have emerged since: BGR has been given more details with regards to the device's marketing push for the Galaxy S III. And it sounds big - the mobile device will be the official device for the 2012 Summer Olympics which points to an international roll-out, which might include simultaneous launch events in metropolitan cities like New York City, Seoul and Dubai.
BGR has also been told that the Samsung Galaxy S III will come in two color options: blue and black, and white. It is also said to feature a ceramic case or a brushed metal or stainless steel/plastic case which is said to be water-resistant. The Galaxy S III is also alleged to feature a physical home button in the middle of the device under the display, and that it would not be relying on the on-screen navigation buttons available on Android 4.0. This is no surprise of course, given Samsung's track record in offering users with more than one color option (see Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II). Like the Galaxy S II, the Galaxy S III will come in 16GB and 32GB variations.
The Android 4.0 Galaxy S III will purportedly be loaded with a bevy of hardware updates, some of which includes a quad-core Exynos processor, a 4.65-inch display with a screen resolution of 720p or 1080p and integrated 4G LTE.
