Samsung Galaxy S II Gets First Taste of Android 4.0 in Europe and Korea

While the rumored Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S II did not happen on 10th March, a Samsung spokesperson did mention that the update will roll out soon.

And for those Galaxy S II owners in Europe and Korea, that "soon" happens to be right about now. Samsung has announced via its Facebook and Twitter accounts that the ICS update will hit Galaxy S II handsets in Korea and Europe, including Poland, Hungary and Sweden. And it will roll out to other markets afterwards.

A quick check with Samsung Singapore did not yield a specific date for the ICS update here, but we were told it's coming soon.

The other good news to come from the Korean chaebol is that the ICS update for the Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 will also roll out shortly after ICS has completed its rounds among the Galaxy S II handsets worldwide.
