The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ are official, and here are the pricing and availability details

Samsung Electronics has announced today the global launch of the Galaxy Note 5 4G+ and Galaxy S6 Edge+ 4G+, two smartphones with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display.

Under the hood, both phablets share several similarities. For example, both are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 octa-core SoC, have 4GB of RAM and 32 and 64GB internal storage options, a 16-megapixel F1.9 rear camera with optical image stabilization and a 5-megapixel F1.9 front camera, run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, support LTE Cat 9, sport fast charging and have embedded wireless charging capability, and work with several wireless connectivity technologies, including 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, and NFC. Like the S6 models, both also come with an additional 100GB of Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage for free for two years.

While both devices’ camera modules have remained the same as the ones on the S6 models, there are a few new camera features this time round. For example, the Camera app has a new Pro mode that lets users save photos as RAW files and manually adjust the shutter speed, as well as support for live video broadcasting. And in the audio department, both devices feature Ultra High Quality (UHQ) Audio for immersive multimedia experience. UHQ Audio can also be played over Bluetooth through Samsung’s next generation of wireless audio accessories, such as the Level On Wireless Pro.

The Galaxy Note 5 4G+ is the only one that offers S Pen capabilities. New features include an enhanced Air Command that lets you add up to three app shortcuts, an improved Screen Write feature with a Scroll Capture long webpage capturing function, an updated Smart Select feature that saves the URL with an image cropped from a website, and a new Screen Off Memo feature that lets you jot down quick memos even when the screen is off.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ 4G+ on the other hand has a display that curves on two sides. New features include Apps Edge for easy access to your favorite apps, and an enhanced People Edge for easy communication with your favorite contacts. In addition to calling, messaging, and emailing, People Edge now allows you to connect with your close contacts by sending handwritten memos, emoticons, and poking.
