The new ATIV line-up includes the recently introduced SideSync technology, which allows for easy sharing between the PC and an Android-based Samsung smartphone or tablet powered by Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and above.
Samsung is also debuting a new feature called HomeSync Lite, which transforms the PC’s hard drive into a personal cloud server. HomeSync Lite allows users to back-up their personal files, photos and videos from portable devices to PCs and access them remotely via a mobile device anytime, anywhere.
The premium 13.3-inch ATIV Book 9 Plus is the next generation of the ATIV Book 9, which features several enhancements from the previous model, including a Windows 8 optimized touchscreen to give users a choice of inputs and a panel that flips 180 degrees so that users can change or share their perspective easily.
Boasting a QHD＋ (3200 x 1800) featuring 300nit brightness, the ATIV Book 9 Plus offers the ultimate viewing experience while 11 hours of battery life allows users to stay productive during cross-continental flights on a single charge. The Book 9 Plus boots from cold in less than six seconds and wakes up from sleep in under one second, allowing users to access the information and programs they need nearly instantly.
Productivity is further enhanced by Samsung’s SideSync technology, which makes it easy to share content between the Book 9 Plus and an Android-based Samsung smartphone or tablet.
As for specifications, the upcoming ATIV Book 9 Plus will come with an Intel fourth generation Core i5-4200U (1.6GHz) processor, and a 128GB SSD. It will also be depending on its onboard Intel HD 4400 graphics to power its QHD display.
The Samsung ATIV Book 9 will also come with a wide array of ports. It has two USB 3.0 ports, a mini-ethernet port, a card reader, a micro-HDMI port, and a mini-VGA port that gives users plenty of connectivity options.
And despite its list of features, the Samsung ATIV Book 9 only measures 13.9mm thick, and weighs 1.39kg. Samsung declined to comment on how much the ATIV Book 9 will cost, and when it will arrive exactly, but be assured that it will arrive in the last quarter of 2013, and will be running an Intel fourth generation Core processor.
With the same design identity as Book 9 Plus, the 13.3-inch Book 9 Lite comes equipped with a quad-core processor, a discrete AMD Radeon HD 8250 GPU, and a 128GB SSD. This allows the Book 9 Lite to boot from cold in less than seven seconds and wake up from sleep in less than one second.
It weighs from 1.44 kg and is less than an inch thick, making it an ideal choice for mobile consumers and business travellers alike. Users can interact between a PC and an Android -based Samsung smartphone or tablet easily as the Book 9 Lite also supports Samsung SideSync technology.
There will be a two versions of the ATIV Book 9 Lite -- one with touch display, and one without. Specifications for both types are the same, but the ATIV Book 9 Lite with touch weighs 1.58kg, unlike its sibling the ATIV Book 9 Lite without touch, which weighs 1.44kg.
