Samsung expects sales of Galaxy S8 to outperform the S7, promises no supply issues

With the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ handsets hitting global markets from 21st April, Samsung is sharing its expectations for the handsets.

Samsung's chief of mobile business, Dong-jin Koh expects the sale of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ to exceed that of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. While there is no specific sales target mentioned, Samsung stated last week that the Galaxy S7 handsets hit a new internal record for first-year sales.

To ensure that there will be no supply issues or delays, Koh also mentioned that the company "set the initial supply of the Galaxy S8 double the Galaxy S7". Based on his calculations, 20 million units of the Galaxy S8 handsets are being prepped for launch.
