Samsung to copy one major feature of the iPhone X for the Galaxy S9?
Fancy the Animoji on the iPhone X? Well, it might be available on the Galaxy S9 phones.
Korean publication ETNews claimed that Samsung is introducing a 3D emoji feature on the Galaxy S9 which is "more advanced" than Animoji on the iPhone X. The 3D emoji feature is said to include animal characters and Galaxy S9 users can share these characters with others via third party messaging apps.
Apple introduced the Animoji feature on the iPhone X in September last year. Apple's implementation requires the TrueDepth camera to analyze more than 50 different muscle movements to mirror the user's expressions in 12 animated characters. It is unclear at the moment on the official name for Samsung's 3D emoji feature and in what way is its feature "more advanced" than Apple's Animoji.
Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy S9 on 25 February (26 February, 1AM SGT) in Barcelona. You can find out more about the Galaxy S9 in our round-up article here.
