Samsung to announce Galaxy Note 5 in July ahead of Apple's iPhone launch in Sept?
Consumers who are waiting for the Galaxy Note 5 may only have to wait for another two months.
According to Korean news site WhoWired, Samsung is said to be unveiling the Galaxy Note 5 at the end of July. In addition, the South Korean phone maker reportedly accelerated the release plan to complete the prototype in mid June and informed global telcos to take pre-orders before its launch.
Quoting information from major bloggers in the industry, WhoWired claims that the Galaxy Note 5 will come with a 5.89-inch 4K display while its Edge counterpart will sport a 5.78-inch display. The Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to be just 7.9mm thin and will be equipped with a whopping 4,100mAh battery.
It is believed that Apple's explosive sales of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus prompted Samsung to push forward its launch schedule to gain a head start. However, the latest report does not coincide with earlier reports from SamMobile that Samsung might be only releasing the Galaxy Note 5 this year. Samsung is also alleged to be releasing another smartphone with a curved display before September.
