Samsung to announce the Galaxy Note 4 on September 3?
September is shaping up to be a very busy month for the smartphone industry as phone makers are planning to unveil new phones.
According to The Korea Times, Samsung's top tier suppliers revealed that the company is unveiling the Galaxy Note 4 on September 3. They added that Samsung pushed forward the launch and availability of the device to stay ahead of Apple's iPhone 6. Samsung is also alleged to have equipped the Galaxy Note 4 with "far better specifications than the Galaxy S5 smartphone".
The Galaxy Note 4 is likely to retain the same screen size (5.7-inches) as the Galaxy Note 3 and incorporates a metal frame. There is also speculation about a curved OLED variant of the Galaxy Note 4, which will be available in limited quantity like the Galaxy Round. Other rumored specs include the use of an ultraviolet sensor for measuring UV radiation, a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 4G LTE support.
Besides Samsung, Apple and Sony are also expected to unveil new flagship devices in September. Apple is reportedly holding a launch event on September 16 while Sony is estimated to take the wraps off its Xperia Z3 phone sometime in September.
