Rumor: Meet the new Canon EOS M6

Blogger Nokishita Camera has brought yet another round of leaks from his sources, and this time it involves two cameras from Canon.

The mirrorless EOS M6 looks to be a pared down version of the EOS M5, with the following specs:

  • Number of effective pixels: Approximately 24.2 million pixels
  • Image processing engine: DIGIC 7
  • AF point: 49 points
  • Sequential shooting: 7 fps (AF fixed: 9 fps)
  • ISO sensitivity: 100 to 25600
  • Shutter speed: 1 / 4000-30, flash sync speed:  1/200 second
  • Video: Full HD, HD, VGA
  • Rear display: 3.0” type tilt type touch panel
  • Size: 112.0 × 68.0 × 44.5 mm
  • Recording media: SD / SDHC / SDXC card
  • Built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
  • Color: Black / Silver

It seems the new camera will be selfie-friendly.

The rear looks exactly like the EOS M5.

Meanwhile, there’s also a listing for an EOS 77D DSLR-style camera. This looks to be an update to the EOS 70D which brings it some of the tech from the EOS 80D. Here are the rumored specs:

  • Number of effective pixels: Approximately 24.2 million pixels
  • Image processing engine: DIGIC 7
  • Dual pixel CMOS AF
  • AF point: 45 points
  • Highest continuous shooting rate: 6 fps
  • ISO sensitivity: 100 to 25600
  • Rear display: 3.0” type tilt type touch panel
  • Display: 3” variable-angle LCD with touch
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled
  • Size:131.0 × 99.9 × 76.2mm
  • Weight: 540 g

All in, these two rumored cameras represent more incremental additions to Canon’s line-up that should be lower price options for both the EOS 80D and the EOS M5 respectively. Nokishita has been right numerous times before, so we'll wait to see just what comes out next from Canon.
