Rock on with Sony’s latest addition to its Extra Bass family – the XB950N1/XB950B1

Bass fans, Sony’s latest headphones bring you the same powerful bass response in a wireless package that brings added smarts thanks to its support for the Sony Headphones Connect application. Engage the Extra Bass function with just a touch of a button, and tweak the sound levels to easily simulate different listening experiences – from dance club to outdoor stage to concert hall – with just a swipe.

As its name implies, the XB950N1 features a noise-cancelling mode that adapts to your environment, cancelling out external noises so you can focus on your music. The XB950N1 also features an integrated microphone so you can take and make calls without having to dig out your smartphone.

The XB950N1’s built-in rechargeable battery offers up to 22 hours of continuous wireless music playback with noise-cancelling activated. There’s also a version without noise-cancelling – the XB950B1 that provides up to 18 hours of playback on a single charge of just four hours. The XB950N1 takes about seven hours to reach full charge. Both will work fine in Passive mode via the included audio cable if batteries run out.

The XB950N1 comes in a choice of Black and Green.

The XB950B1 on the other hand, offers a selection of Blue, Red, and Black.

Both use 40mm Dome drivers that cover the recognized audible range of 20Hz to 20kHz, and support for the A2DP, AVRCP, HSP and HFP profiles for better control over playback. The SBC, AAC, and aptX Codecs are also supported for better wireless audio streaming, though it seems these headphones won’t be getting Sony’s proprietary LDAC technologies.

The XB950N1 has a RRP of S$339 and comes in only two colors (Black and Green), while the X950B1 has a RRP of S$269 and comes in a choice of Black, Red, or Blue. Both will be available from April 2017 onwards. Find out more information from the video below.
