Earlier last week, we reported that Apple will be holding an event this Thursday to announce its new iMacs, iPads and the public availability of OS X Yosemite. There were also whispers that Apple could unveil its eagerly anticipated and rumored MacBook Air with Retina display. However, according to the latest reports, this is not going to be the case.

Reports say, "Apple may well have a new MacBook Air with Retina Display in the pipeline, but it’s not going to unveil it this week. Sources familiar with Apple’s plans tell me that the company’s latest reimagining of the ultralight laptop won’t be shown off at its Thursday event."

This corroborates with an earlier report by the Wall Street Journal that production of this new rumored MacBook Air with Retina display will only begin in December.

In other news, leaked images of the new iPad show that it will be powered a new A8X processor - presumably a more powerful version of the A8 processor found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus - and that it will come with 2GB of RAM - the current iPad Air only has 1GB of RAM.
