Razer has now announced the Seirēn Pro, a digital microphone targeted at streamers and YouTubers like the original Seirēn. However, the Seirēn Pro differentiates itself from its older sibling with a slew of studio-grade features, such as the ability to record up to a resolution of 192kHz/24-bit.

Unlike the digital-only Razer Seirēn microphone, the Seirēn Pro features an analog XLR connection that allows it to be plugged directly into mixing boards and cameras. Users can even string together multiple microphones and instruments to the same mixing board with the XLR option, which enables greater flexibility and adjustments on-the-fly during live streaming or recording sessions.

Razer’s latest microphone is a sleek, black affair that would look right at home in a professional studio, and even the usually bright green Razer insignia has been swapped out for a classier monochrome styling. Inside its black housing, the Seirēn Pro sports three 14mm custom-tuned condenser capsules that are capable of recording in four different pattern configurations: cardioid, stereo, omni-directional and bi-directional. Each configuration is suited for various uses – for instance, cardioid works best for streaming purposes but you’ll probably want to set it to bi-directional mode for interviews.

The inclusion of a high-pass filter toggle is also another improvement over the original Razer Seirēn. The filter removes low-end noises from your recordings, including things like electrical humming, wind noise and even cars from the street below. This also helps with streaming audio, which often produces a high bass response as a result of close proximity with the microphone. The high-pass filter thus allows you to filter the fuzzy low-end from your vocals and generate a clearer recording.

The Razer Seirēn Pro will be compatible with the existing shock mount accessory (S$69.90) and pop filter (S$69.90) available exclusively on the RazerStore. The microphone can also be purchased as a bundle with both accessories for S$439.90 on the RazerStore as well.

The microphone itself will retail for S$389.90 and is slated to begin shipping on 8 May. Included in the package are a mini-USB-to-USB cable, a 5-pin XLR cable, and a 3.5mm audio extension cable. The Seirēn Pro is currently available for pre-order on the RazerStore.
